Female Leadership
There is a major lack of female leadership in the world: last year, only 26% of worldwide CEOs were female. G.L.O.W International aims to change this statistic by helping teen girls discover the leader within themselves and feel empowered to persue future leadership positions.
Quality Educational Experience
We believe that the best learning happens through small group settings and direct student-teacher interactions. G.L.O.W International incorporates these standards into workshop setup, ensuring every student receives a high-quality educational experience. Additionally, G.L.O.W International teachers are required to attend three courses in teaching practices in to maximize the positive impact they have on their students.
Story Sharing
It is crucial for students to cultivate their own voice as soon as possible. G.L.O.W's roots in writing education allow children at all development levels grow their writing articulation and, therefore, their ability to share personal stories. As an international organization, G.L.O.W International amplifies the voices of children from diverse backgrounds, emphasizing the connection that writing brings.
Sustainable Communities
When students complete a G.L.O.W International writing program, they are instilled with a stronger sense of community stemming from their teacher mentoring. Our goal is to inspire fourth year participants to eventually become G.L.O.W student teachers of their own. This creates a positive cycle of activism and participation among youth, promoting healthier, sustainable communities.
