Our Story
Once upon a time, GLOW co-founder Celine was trudging through COVID lockdown with the rest of the world when she noticed that her little brother's class was far behind learning benchmarks, especially in the writing department. Being all too familiar with the drawbacks of Zoom school, she realized that there was an opportunity to give back to her neighborhood community while making some summer spending money on her own schedule. So, she Amazoned (a recognized verb in the GLOW writing universe) herself a teacher's manual for third grade writing and got to work. After a month of chai-fueled brainstorming, outlining, and editing, she had her final idea: a series of writing workshops for kids. The program was a wild success and she most loved seeing students who struggled to write a complete sentence on day share full paragraphs by the end of week two.

July 10th, 2022
The Team Assembles
The following summer, Celine met her new team members Wensing, Ofra, Isla, Aeryn, and Amelie at the LEAP Program hosted by the Jersey College for Girls (in the English Channel). The GLOW International founders are from Taiwan, Rwanda, Jersey, and the United States. The team received mentorship in business development, operations, finance, and marketing. As a group, they decided to build out the writing program to make it available to teen teachers worldwide.
July 19th, 2022
The Pitch
After a week and half of mentorship from the finest of Jersey's business-minded, the team pitched GLOW International to a panel of investors "Shark Tank" style (Though across the pond it's called the Dragon's Den).
You can watch the recorded broadcast to see exactly how it went, but the most important thing is that the Dragons awarded GLOW International £750 as seed money.
August 2022- Present
Project Launch
Now, Celine, Wensing, Ofra, Isla, Aeryn, and Amelie are working to launch GLOW International. While they are on Zoom again and the 16-hour time difference makes scheduling a puzzle, they're loving every minute of it! Keep an eye on GLOW social media for updates... this is definitely NOT the end of the story!
